Kale Chips Recipe Without Oil | Zero Oil Kale Recipes

Here is a recipe of baked kale chips made without any oil. It’s a great way to add greens in your diet.

Kale Chips

Equipment

  • Conventional oven or convection oven
  • blender with small grinding jar or mortar and pestle

Ingredients
  

  • 200 gm kale leaves washed and dried

Dressing

  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1.5 tbsp soy sauce (or liquid aminos) non GMO
  • juice of 1 large lemon
  • rock salt to taste
  • cayenne pepper/ chilli powder to taste

Instructions
 

  • Destem all kale leaves and break them into squares/rectangular pieces of around 1"x1" or 1"x2"
  • for the dressing, dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan. Roast till they start popping and turn into light golden brown colour. Let them cool down. Once they cool, make a coarse powder in the blender using the small grinding jar. You can also use a mortal and pestle.
  • preheat the oven to 110°C (230°F)
  • add all dressing ingredients to the kale leaves and rub it thoroughly so that each leaf is fully covered with the dressing
  • line these on 2 baking trays, placing them close to each other but should not overlap.
  • now bake for 10 minutes and then turn them over
  • now bake for another 8-10 minutes till the edges turn brown and chips begin to crisp up
  • be careful as they can burn very quickly so keep an eye on the edges.
  • when they are a little crisp with brown edges, remove them from the oven. Once they cool down, they will become more crisp.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in airtight glass jar at room temperature for 5-6 days.
